I was with Jen last night. Her text message inviting over for a quick dinner worried me. After my breaking-up-season last year, we never had another chance to meet though continually we had short hellos via Facebook and that. I first thought that if she’ll not be personally sending me a wedding invite, then we‘re off for another talk of falling apart, and this time hers. Good thing I was very wrong. She clearly explained they’re just in the middle of emotional crisis nowadays but still together. No chance led me to meeting his boyfriend; nevertheless, I have always trusted Jen when she said this guy is good man. Reared from a known clan served in silver platter, I was stunned that he actually is a Harvard alumnus! It’s understandable how he tries so hard to finance himself and save up away from the shelter of gold his family is engaged to, for Jen and their future. The pressure he carries on his shoulders now puts equal strain to their relationship. Sometimes they no longer feel the warmth, as they first wanted to keep alive. He works so much and likewise she does that oftentimes communication is abandoned. Therefore, they decided to take things slow and rebuild their individual selves.
Stories of life and love which bridge the distance between me and my girl friends. We may be opposite poles away and might find a long time in meeting again, yet nothing in this world broke our bond as surrogate sisters. I’m with Jen whenever she needs my presence and I’m even more sure she’ll be around when it’s my time to call her. And that’s really what friends are for!
