raided by pirates

Just now we were informed about the undesired situation of one gas tanker our office is managing. Deployed currently in Nigeria, the craft, carrying more than ten seafarers, was raided by pirates across the land borders and what worries us more is the vessel being piloted by a Filipino captain.

I have heard different stories about piracy at sea but nothing really sunk in just yet until the news surprised us this morning. The captain is about my dad’s age and he has just boarded there in August directly from one previous journey. Can you imagine the agony on board while these pirates seized their supposed to be peaceful workplace? Everyone offshore prays for the entire crews’ safety.

for when you die you all shall surely pay for its price!
