After receiving Mom’s text message to visit one relative at the hospital, I didn’t think twice and left early after work to join her and Dad. Clueless of who the person really is, I was amazed to know how God has put things in order for me to meet Uncle Zandro again.
Benign brain tumor was the reason why he was flown to Manila all the way from Cebu. The only hospital that can cater him with the Gamma Knife procedure is here. Upon meeting my parents the other night, he requested to see me for some reasons. His tight embrace welcomed me as I entered his cozy room. It was as if I was hugging someone who missed me for a very long time. True enough, twenty-four years passed by before we were able to see each other again. I paid much attention as he started to remind me of the sweet yesteryears.
Note: Whoever reads this, please join us in praying for him. Thank you!
He was a Bible student then and was required to do a certain case study to which he chose me to be one of his respondents. “We played together and in between breaks, you helped me answer some questionnaires I made,” he recalls. It was a complete success and his promise to see me again after he graduated was long held pending because he was assigned to Cebu. Since then I never heard about him. In fact, I was unable to recognize him at first glance in the hospital. He seemed to be a plain stranger. Nevertheless, his old time stories bridged the gap between today and all those silent years after we last met. I felt honored to find someone who longs for my presence. I hugged him back and shared prayers for his fast recovery.
Indeed, God has a way of putting people in the right place at the right time.
