Vietnam Chronicles: I ♥ North Face

I have always wanted to climb again. My highest desire to complete my hiking gears is actually one of the reasons why I traveled to Vietnam ─ I want my own North Face climbing bag!

On our first day at Saigon, while touring around the city, we dropped by at a coffee factory. The place itself was offering many goods like chocolates, tea, powder juice ─ and to my astonishment ─ women’s bags too! The saleslady who successfully brainwashed me to get my Dad an alamid coffee (coffee beans secreted by bearcats or civets), dragged me to the adjacent stall where bags and wallets were beautifully displayed. My eyes nearly fell on the floor in amazement ─ you know that girly thing inside when you are in the midst of the things you ever wanted to have. For a while, I was stuck and the last thing I remembered was haggling over the price of this dark blue 45L Electron gear.

I look forward to a number of climbing experiences with my 45L Electron North Face bag.

I gave an irksome answer when she asked me the value that I wanted. The bargaining period lasted for at least twenty minutes; the other tourists waiting for me at the van outside were already getting pissed! I said VND 1,500,000 was the last price I could pay. And you wouldn’t believe, she gave me the bag!

I am so thankful to have that bargaining skills for emergency purposes! (Hahaha) This kind of bag costs twice as much as the ones bought from NF stores at the mall... and because of this, I ♥ Vietnam even more today!

Right! That bag cost a fortune here in Manila. My nephew has a North Face bag and a jacket. The jacket is cool. Easy to dry when washed. :)
