5/20 Challenge: Glutton's Penalty

It’s fun to eat a lot especially on a buffet restaurant. I don’t mind burning money for food because it’s food after all ─ you need it to live. Yes true but what I had that time was an exemption.

Together with my whole staff in the airport, we celebrated our office anniversary. Food and drinks were overflowing. I tried every drink available and ate every food served. Much to my surprise, just a few minutes after, little rashes came out one by one. From tiny reddish skin rashes in an arm, the itchiness multiplied and reached down to my legs. I felt some hot flashes too on my nape and was so sure I got small blisters down to my back. I ate too much seafoods that night ─ both crabs and squid, and the penalty was so grave, immediate hospitalization.

Anything too much is bad. To my health, that time, it really was. Now that I’m not getting any younger, I see to it that I don’t feed myself with all those deadly food. I can satisfy myself with something just “enough” anyway. Health is wealth and I learned to value it in a very hard way.
