celebrating my birthday month

Not only that October is my birthday month. This year also is when I will celebrate life’s most dreaded numeric age of 30. Yes, I’m getting there and actually bit prepared for what this number would bring me. I have accepted the fact that many would turn their heads in ridicule that I reach this age unmarried and to make it worse, unattached.

I feared for this time to come all my life, honestly. Fear of others’ unsolicited opinion for single women like me, fear of not fulfilling their every expectation to see me happily nurturing a family. Day after day, since after the last day of September lapsed, I trained myself not to retaliate over what others would tell or even think.

The Lord has been so great to me in the span time that I lived the past twenty-nine years of my life. So that’s more than enough to feel blessed that I will be celebrating another year in a few days. Just to add to that, I already have advance birthday gifts from Him:

• I was chosen as one of the key talents at work. I got promoted.
• I was able to rub elbows with my super crush just very recently.
• I was able to do a duet with my bestfriend, sister-in-Christ, Ate Emie 
• I made it again at the top of the world at Mt. Daguldol and met wonderful people.
• I booked another climb (and that’ll be a major climb, mind you!) for 2013.
• I'll be out with girls for a dreamed SPA day!
• I am looking forward to my birthday adventure in Region VII, soon.

As I breathe air through my nostrils, I know that my next breath is because of the grace of God. I won’t be if He won’t let me. I’m still anxious but am more excited as my birthday countdown gradually comes to an end.
