When I was younger, I remember Mom telling us, "Don't expect me to attend recognition programs in school when you only got non-academic special awards, like Most Industrious or Most Artistic."
Yes, that's the way of upbringing our Mom chose for us. It was not appealing to anyone among us at home; it did feel like we needed to strive better to please her. But everytime my sisters and I gained honors in school, I became thankful that she was like that to us. We're pushed to study harder and maximize our God-given intelligence. I did graduate both from elementary and high school years with flying colors. And in college, I was a dean's lister too!
This time, I want to give credit to my dear sister, Yulab for earning the second highest award in the academe. Well, she's no less than their class Salutatorian! Congratulations baby sister! I thank God for this blessing He gave her and I hope she'll continue the heritage of becoming her best in school life.
