When you left the first time, my happiness for your
being free from emotional pain made it easy to move on. There was only a tiny
piece of sadness hanging around whenever I see your empty seat at work. Although
it was hard to find regular time in seeing each other, you made it feel like
there’s not much difference in your absence because you know exactly how to be
a real friend to me. Now that you’ll be crossing another phase of life in a
very distant territory, I think it’ll remind me of getting another kind of
heartache! On the very last minute we talked, I shed the first teardrop for
separation anxiety. I'll miss you big time!
So tonight I’m tossing a coin at an invisible wishing well,
close my eyes in prayer and say, “I’ll see you in California!”
