high return on happiness

I must admit, I have had the kind of fun on this trip that I honestly did not expect I was supposed to have. For this type of break which forced me to compromise a few days away from home, I first thought of losing the path to happiness. The horror of needing a vacation after our vacation irked my mind. But I was wrong, absolutely wrong.

Beyond whether or not this exceptional backpacking activity shall end up being as fun as others think it will be, we honestly wished to stop the clock and take pleasure in every single moment offered to us. Our silence articulated how we sought to extend some more time together. Our mutual thoughts led us to happiness. As every minute expires, we stood there with bated breath hoping to impede the day’s end, but the anticipation of something good to treasure madly kept our endorphins going!

Together we learned that the point of travel is not only to achieve a high return on happiness ─ it’s also to learn about others' cultures, and most especially about ourselves.
