October 30 at 3:30 PM ─ the play date of the complimentary tickets I got for winning GlamBox Airbrush Cosmetics’ online contest two weeks back. Opportune to watch The Wedding Singer Musical for free, I shared to my sister this post-birthday celebration at the Meralco Theater. Our excitement brought us to the venue forty-five minutes ahead of time!
Having zero knowledge (by choice) about the gist of the show, I found myself swaying along with the characters at the center stage that afternoon. Each scene splendidly surprised me! I never even thought that Robbie Hart, the lead male character, was actually the “wedding singer” in the story. Well in figures, I could count in my fingers how many men I knew made singing a serious career. Julia Sullivan's character, on the other hand, magically carried me to the wonders of falling in love with someone you’ll least expect to end up with. I felt for her bundles of anxiety in the arms of the man she dreamed to get married to someday. The twists and turns of the show made it even more worth watching until the theater drapes mask the backstage.
It was indeed a solid beguiling romantic stage performance! Kudos to 9 Works Theatrical!
