In pursuit of finding non-expensive giveaways for my niece’s upcoming first birthday, off to the heart of Manila we went. Everyone at home remarked that we go to Divisoria where definitely a bulk of choices awaits us. My not-being-a-street-smart character discouraged me to gamble the few hours left to still find what we wanted. Instead, we tried sauntering the crowded avenue of Recto. By foot, my sister and I unknowingly had gotten to toddle the intersecting streets along Raon, Plaza Miranda, and Quiapo Church.
That exhausting afternoon filtered my strength. So bad, I nearly had blisters on my feet! Yes, I was sad for the unsuccessful endeavor to look for those good buys, but then having to avail the big tarp designed by a good friend, every tiring minute simply paid off! At home, little Lanel just couldn’t shelve her excitement while sitting on the floor of her own image.
One more Saturday to go for the Happy Holly Day!
