Araw ng Kagitingan

Looking back to the time I was in Corregidor, the nostalgic path our heroes of yesteryears lived heartily inspires me.

The ruins of the military barracks picture the severe damage caused by the war. From the relics alone I gained that notable idea how severe the exchange of bombings was during the World War II. I admittedly had deeper appreciation of the coalition between the Filipino and American soldiers who then fought for peace and national welfare during the Japanese siege upon getting the drift of the historical record worth remembering.

Seeing every surviving veteran of war today leads me to honoring the legacy of valor they once scribbled with blood in the history. We may not be battling same morbid hostilities today; rather their heroism challenges us to carry on the fight for nationwide peace and economic growth.

Today is Araw ng Kagitingan (
Day of Valour). Does anyone of us care?
