The composer of the song, "Mabuhay Ka, Pilipino" is Dante Beriong.
It was chosen for the 1998 Centennial Celebration in the Philippines.
This version is arranged by Arnel de Pano in 1998 for the album Awit Para Sa Sentenaryo 1998.
I have always been a big fan of patriotic songs. Played on air, I completely feel like being a Filipino and singing with my eyes closed, my heart’s every beat defines how thankful I am for inheriting the good of our independence today.
Visiting other countries made me realize how far behind our country is when it comes to economy and national welfare. Their cleanliness, orderliness, discipline and beauty will always be an inspiration to make our country a better place. Given the many chances to leave and work overseas, I still prefer to stay here. Our country maybe run like hell but it is still our home, my only home.
Maligayang Araw ng Kalayaan, Pilipinas!

It is an enviable feeling that patriotic sense of being part of a territory!
I was traveling so much in the last time that I have lost the concept of 'my' country, unless I meant 'the whole world'.
In truth, I do not know what is best, there is a lingering memory of the place I was born, but there is a wider one of belonging to all people on the face of Earth!
we have the same sentiments Dai Ning..our country maybe behind in some ways but I am proud to say that we Filipinos are more hospitable and knows how to have a happy smile :)
..there is no place like home most specially being with your complete and happy family..
Thank you guys. Happy Independence Day!
