“We believe that we are asserting only what we claim is ours in our sovereign capacity. We need not have to question Western Palawan about the Reed Bank ─ it is ours. By law of proximity, the Spratly Islands are only 80 nautical miles away from Palawan in contrast to them, which is about over 400 or a little less than 500 nautical miles from them. So obviously, we take ownership of it and was never considered disputed," Presidential spokesperson said.
Amid all these, the Philippines remains committed to having the issue resolved peacefully and diplomatically.

I share your sentiment. I hope we can resolve this issue diplomatically. And... the soonest possible time.
We say no to any means beyond the diplomatic solutions.
