typhoon Pedring

On month-end period, while everyone is excitedly waiting for the payday, I am one of the busiest people in the office. The last week of every month is a crucial phase since first draft of the financial reports is due for submission on the 2nd of the following month. For a matter of week, I have to accomplish everything by any means. So how about today when typhoon Pedring (international name: Nesat) ruined every way left for anyone to report for work?

After Department of Education (DepEd) announced suspension of classes day before this storm pounded its full damaging strength in the country, most especially in Manila, I had this odd feeling about the worsening downpour. By the rains alone, I could attest this would be very similar to the 2009 mishap brought by typhoon Ondoy killing 500 people of which 68 came from Marikina ─ the city nearest to Marikina river pegging a record of 23 meters above sea level that time. Statistics released casualty count of 18 people, including five children from different places.

If any of you wonders how the surrounding areas look like today, here’s a snapshot I grabbed online describing perfectly the disaster this typhoon brought us. The river is only 4 meters behind the record Ondoy had two years ago.

Let’s all pray hand in hand for the safety of everyone.

Yes I saw the waves too hitting the nearby pavements at Manila Bay. Pedring was really angry! Thank God there is none from my family, relatives, or friends and even you, who's left with critical damage by this disaster.
