in this very room

After nearly a year, my bedroom welcomed me back! It took me great courage to battle annoyance (which honestly was my initial reaction when they had me overthrown to the other room) against the situation we were in that time. Due to some unforeseen circumstances, I was forced to leave my own place and give way to my younger sister’s family.

There hurt more than just the relocation part. It was very difficult to accept someone new into my family. Call me rude and heartless, but that’s exactly how I felt during that time. I left my literal zone of comfort with so many chips on my shoulder… but that was before. Time heals every wound and just in time when things gradually fall in the proper place, I am back to where I established my life for years ─ in this very room. A perfect place where I can do whatever want ─ read books, record my voice as I sing alone, think of anything, make plans, day dream, cry and laugh at myself. All these I barely can do with someone around so I am happy, and I mean very happy that they gave me back the only place where I can be very me.

So then I can almost hear it say, “Hey Ning Li, welcome back!”
