I was born with an unhealthy pair of lungs. Since birth, the prime reason why I need to be sent to the doctor every now and then is shortness of breath and other pulmonary disorder. Growing up, I have a hard time battling against my allergies that lead to asthma attack. This has gone so tiring now that I am stepping on the peak of my adulthood. Sometime at night, I wonder if this disease would bring me long-term discomfort, or even death.
After spending a few hours in the clinic today, I went home with another set of medication for my lungs ─ asthma inhaler. Although I have this disease for years, I have not been dependent to any prescription other than the nebulizer. The device helps a lot in putting me to a peaceful sleep at night. However, since I had another bad encounter with the unseen allergens around, plain resting at home didn’t aid in making me feel a little better. Dry cough and colds even worsen the situation, bringing me hoarseness! Just so, the doctor decided to keep me under medical maintenance up until the cold season is over. I hate this system of monitoring what pill to take and remembering when to take it. I am so lazy in taking medicines, but I badly have to. I need to live longer, I have to be healthier and I don’t want to die in asthma’s hand!
