Let me do a recapitulation of what made me busy over the fisrt six months of this year:
(Click the months to visit related stories)
JANUARY. It’s when Mom has turned 50 and of course, I didn’t want to lose the chance of celebrating it with some twist and surprise for her. As early as October 2011, I was praying hard that I would be granted with enough resources, both financial and human, to help me work out the plan well. I cooked up the surprise by gathering some churchmate-friends that Sunday and coordinating with the most artistic patisserie, Fleur, who did a very great job designing my Mom’s birthday cake. We bought birthday souvenirs too ─ round fan with Mom’s picture design. She loved it all, I could tell.
FEBRUARY. I was in Vietnam. That was the second time I flew with my sister. In 2011, at the Hong Kong trip, it was Yulab who went with me. This year, it’s Geah along with some crazy traveler friends. The experience we had in Ho Chi Minh was superb! Although the country itself is no more than ordinary as ours, we were offered a truly exceptional vacation there ─ the hotel was excellent, the people were wonderful, the shopping capacity of dollar was amazing!
MARCH. I gambled some personal issues with the fun awaiting us at the topmost part of the country ─ Cagayan Valley. Although it might appear fishy to some for joining a male-friend in roaming up there, I didn’t mind. It’s the real story and intentions that matter anyway. God’s glory shines at every corner of the place. The bluish green sea of the north radiantly reflecting the sunrays really looked perfect! We built our team ─ Benj, Ms. Rich, Mao and I.
APRIL. The teambuilding activity in Bataan was a blast! It’s the work and play in planning for this event that made the committee members closer to each other. We enjoined that one night experience of being wealthy ─ staying in a cozy room, served with sumptuous meals, grasping time in our hands. Although there was quite a big number of participants and despite all the tiring efforts to successfully execute this event, the successful outcome of this project made us all proud as event planners.
MAY. I forced myself to be happy and opted to explore the beauty of Ilocos with new faces and friends. Born in a family of Cebuanos, it was a big challenge to mingle with people speaking different tongues. It did went well though because I brought one Ilocano friend along. I was thankful to have met my WOWtrippers family too. They are crazy, loud, explorers…. so I loved them and I loved Ilocos!
JUNE. After all those trips and itineraries, I found myself stuck at home, flat broke! Hahaha :) There are more to come this year. Six more months to complete the adventure. You gotta follow my compass!
