bowling makes me happy

Days unfold so fast. It’s been a year after we last joined the corporate bowling tournament at MOA. I could hardly remember my score that time but I am sure it’s not too far from what I got in the recent bowling game we held at Robinsons Place Manila.

I do bowl and love the game so much.

With some of my games giving out no less than 120 points, I disappointed many during the last tournament – I got a very bad score! Perhaps it matters really when you’re being surrounded by a big crowd and when you know that people expect you to be excellent. That mere thought brings butterflies in your stomach and pulls the littlest confidence you have for yourself. Nevertheless, it’s a game and you can’t call it one when the joy of doing it is inexistent anymore so I shifted my mindset instantly. Instead of frowning over my weeping scores on the board, I pasted a smile on my face each time I knock the pins down. I raised high five to team members who also do excellent tries that night while munching a stick of hotdog in one corner. My team didn’t win and even worse, we ranked last! I will say it again, it’s just a game and we have all the time to practice and make the succeeding tries perfect.

A week after, I found myself at the bowling alley again
with some friends in the church.

I’m no sporty type but with this game, I could spend hours at the mall in pursuit of mastering the perfect strike. I love bowling a lot, so much that I even thought of buying my own bowling ball like those professional players I meet on special tournaments. Well, it’s not yet late for me and it’s a cool idea. Why not? :)
