outlandish life at kuala lumpur

To have my passport stamped at the immigration has always been a big frustration to me. I so yearn to travel to at least one country every year. It drools to the bones whenever I see pictures of friends roaming around Asia even at their younger age. But then, God truly has His own timeframe for all of us. Blessed with enough means, I was able to explore another beauty of God’s creation in Southeast Asia.

I felt the synthesis of emotion of a first-time foreigner – being rewarded by that nerve-cracking interrogation at the immigration booth before leaving Manila, fevered with anxiety upon arriving in Malaysia at 1am (yes, that is 1am!), puzzled by the road map which is our only pathway to the hotel, figuring out people’s faces if trust-worthy or not regardless of smell, and trying to adapt to the outlandish life in matters of hours after leaving our own country.

At Citinpudu Hotel where my cousin and I stayed for twenty-four hours, I was comforted by the warm welcome of a nice-looking Indian officer who helped us carry our luggage all the way to Room 405. Since time is gold, we put sleeping too much aside and went hopping from one spot to another in order to maximize our stay there. Aside from the prestigious halls of Merdeka Square, and the 272-steps high altar of Batu Cave, I can never be proud to be in Malaysia without having to take photos at Petronas Twin Tower!

Staying for a day in Kuala Lumpur is a never-to-be-forgotten experience. The heart of a stranger still lies at his own land. And that’s the very core of being well taken care of in distant place – to completely feel so at home.

Glad that you like my country. I'm staying on the other side of Malaysia, in Sarawak, on Borneo island. I'm happy that you enjoyed your short stay. Pls, come again. :)

I heard also of Kota Kinabalu's prominence to mountaineers. If I can some time next year, I will go pay visit there in Malaysia again. ;')

You managed to take a good shot of the twin towers, and it looks so beautiful at night. Glad you had a great time there, it will be my turn soon ;)
