Everyone waited so long for December − some for the event they call Christmas, some for the 13th month and other bonuses, some for reunions and year-end gatherings, some for better hopes for the New Year. For someone like me who is never a devotee to this occasion, of course what I look forward to is counting of the remaining days before 2011 closes.
I had one of the most surprising days in my life this year when one friend phoned and invited me for a past-dinner-and-so-early-breakfast somewhere in Makati while I was slogging for an overtime work. It was three years ago since we last had dined together. Because almost everyone cheered for us to be a couple back then when we still worked for same employer, eating and strolling along really made noise to the ever-observing crowd. We were like celebrities trying to escape from the hot issues when together. We were very good friends. Although it came to point that our friendship was nearly at risk, the years we spent apart healed everything.
For the playful minds, he is my could-have-been tale. I was honestly happy to be with him again last night.
