Actively browsing updates in Facebook, I chanced upon a friend’s status message that reads, “Desperate but not searching…” of which another common buddy commented, “I strongly suggest Ning Li to you, your childhood sweetheart… she’ll be stuck on you dude!” Regarding the entire conversation as purely prank, I did not mind replying in jest as well. We may be sitting together in one array for years, but we never really grew up as friends ─ we were ironically fighting like a cat and a dog!
It’s been months after deciding to spend time with myself once again, and so for this seatmate in elementary years who in the midst of my then-love story’s entanglements also had chosen to let go of the person he doesn’t love anymore. Meeting each other after almost two decades had tainted my untoward impression about him. His childish rudeness was replaced with a cool, nutty personality. Our once in a while online talks guaranteed me of his better perspectives in life as a grown up person. His sense and sensibility make me thirst to know more about him. My old time primary class seatmate is no less than a renewed gentleman now!
But to ask me where could we go from here? I don’t know. I can’t think much. I just take pleasure in nourishing more our friendship today.
