The days rapidly unfold as the end of 2010 gets closer and closer. In this year when so many unexpected things transpired, I consider each circumstance as part of the process to sharpen the saw of my being ─ as a woman, as a child of God.
Assimilating the very essence of the choir’s song this coming Sunday, I again was reminded of the goodness of the Lord in my life. The chorus goes this way: “If I cry, You hear. When I walk, you lead. When I stumble, You ease my fall. When I sing, You are my song. Every victory, every crushing defeat, through it all, Lord, You abide with me.”
That imprudent choice to abandon what has been entrusted to me made me love singing even more. It’s no worth gambling this sanctuary of faith over a misleading personal fulfillment. Yes, I honestly forged misery with happiness over a year ago. But then the Lord led me back to the fold, and now how gladly I embrace the rectitude of God’s heart!
