Batam Chronicles: INDOLINGO

Merely relying on the nearness of spelling to the English language, I made myself believe that this one means NO PARKING. The establishment looked like a bank and some meters sideward was a limited car park. That’s why I thought of it reminding the crowd not to park beside the tree when the slots are full.

Posted on the door of a hotel was another eye-catching reminder which obviously means OPEN. Same word is used in the Philippines when referring to “open” or “ready to serve” establishments like banks, restaurants and offices.

It amazes me whenever I get to experience new things as simple as above signboards which I found while strolling in one of the streets of Batam.
